Day #2: Huntington Beach to San Jose

Cereal and fruit on the beach for breakfast.
Today was a travel day up through central California.  Once you cross over the mountains and enter into the valley near the route 99 and Bakersfield, the view outside your window is repetitive. Fields and fields of orchards and farm land as far as the eye can see. The sun reflecting off of the green, lush growth was beautiful. Similarly, the mountains edged our drive to the west (at least for part of the drive), casting a golden hue on the valley below.

Fun Facts From Today:
Number of times a child asked me "Are we there yet?" = 17
Miles driven today: 379
Number of wrong turns* = 1

Conversations Overheard in the Car:
Diego to Olivia: "Your singing is giving me a headache. Please stop. AND it is making my foot hurt."

Ana to Olivia: "I don't have to try to be cool. I am naturally."

Diego to his sisters: "We are all good at something. Mami is good at making sandwiches."

*The Mapquest directions were wrong. No such street existed. Luckily I figured that out before I went too far out of my way.
