Day #3: A Visit to the City By the Bay

You would think that a day that started with this would be a wash, right?

Thankfully, no. If there is one thing I told myself (and the kids) before heading out on this big adventure was that we were going to be flexible. Roll with it. Not worry about the things that were beyond our control. For those of you who know me well, this can be a difficult mantra for me to wear [yes husband, I am looking at you].  But the fact that today started out with an unexpected visit from AAA had no bearing on the fun and explorations we had during the rest of the day.  And it was fun!

First we headed to the Golden Gate Bridge and it was magnificent!

I am wondering in how many photos Diego and Olivia will have the same look. "cheese!"
Next we headed over to Lombard Street, a.k.a. the "Crooked Street" of San Francisco! Due to a detour near the bridge, it took a couple of tries via mapquest and Margie (the GPS navigator on my phone) for me to arrive at our destination.  But it was worth the wait -- we loved it! We drove down the street, then ran up and down it for additional fun.

Our final stop of the day was Ghiradelli's for ice cream floats and then Fisherman's Wharf for a little sightseeing and shopping.

How can  anyone resist this?

Fun Facts From Today:
Number of times a child asked me "Are we there yet?" = 9
Miles driven today: 140
Number of wrong turns = 1
