It seems that each leg of our trip produces varied, yet stunning scenery that is breathtaking. We have seen rivers wider than some lakes that traverse for miles, mountains of lush greenery and rolling hills, waterfalls full of fresh snow melt and jagged rocks and cliffs soaring above and around us with beauty. I was trying to think why Montana's skies would appear so much larger than all of the others. I can't be certain, but it might have to do with the landscape. There are no towering buildings or dense cities to crowd your view. Instead, everything seems low to the ground except for the towering mountains and jagged cliffs. So that when you let your eyes roam over the vistas, the sky does indeed look big.
We left Idaho on Wednesday after 3 great days with an old friend. And while totally cliche, it is true how with some friends you can pick up after a decade of not seeing each other and feel as if it was just last week that you spoke. That is how it was with Shauna and I. My thanks and gratitude go out to her and her family for taking us in and for taking care of us during our stay in Idaho. As with all of the others, this amazing trip would not be possible without the kindness and graciousness of our friends along our journey.
